On Tuesday, 20th September 2022, the Malawi Macadamia Association conducted a field day in Thyolo at Masawa Estate (Eastern Produce) and at Thyolo Sports Club. At Masawa Estate the field day had practical demonstrations of the effectiveness of tackling thrips using Beauvitech which is a biological insecticide that uses fungal technology to kill pests.

At Thyolo Sports Club the theory behind Beauvitech's effectiveness as well as the science behind other biological solutions were presented by Dudutech. In addition, STIHL made a presentation on their product offering for the macadamia sector.
